Officers in Brimington to continue tackling speeding vehicles and illegal drugs supply

Posted on 18th June 2015

Safer Neighbourhood officers in Brimington are vowing to continue to tackle illegal drugs supply and speeding vehicles after a community panel meeting with local residents.

Officers from the area’s Safer Neighbourhood team hosted the meeting on Saturday, June 13 for local people to voice their concerns about issues in the area. They then used feedback from the public to set policing priorities to work towards.

Police will continue to work to tackle illegal drugs supply and misuse across the Brimington area. They will gather information about drug dealing and targeted anyone responsible through drugs raids and continue to forge relationships within the community to reassure residents.

Officers will also be working alongside the council's housing department to ensure a joint approach to tackling the issue through evictions and taking appropriate action against anyone found to be committing drug offences.

They will also be working to deter speeding vehicles on Manor Road in Brimington after residents voiced concerns. They will be increasing police patrols and spot speed enforcement checks alongside the roads policing unit and working with partnership agencies to consider longer term solutions to the issue.
