Police appeal after vandals cause damage to Hasland park

Posted on 20th April 2015

Officers from the Chesterfield South Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information after vandals caused damage to a park in Hasland.

Sometime between Saturday, April 11 and Thursday, April 16, damage was caused to a number of park facilities at Eastwood Park on Hasland Road, Hasland.

Vandals damaged coping stones that surrounded a historic water fountain and a large stone that houses a plaque to the re-opening of the park.

Two picnic tables at the park were also spoiled, with one appearing to have small fire damage to the corner.

Park users are being encouraged to be vigilant and to report any suspicious or anti-social behaviour to police.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PCSO Zoe Blount on 101m quoting crime number 16002/15.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
