North Division

Divisional Commander

Rachel Osborne

Senior officer for this area

North Division comprises the areas of Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, Bolsover, High Peak, Derbyshire Dales and Amber Valley. It covers Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Dronfield, Staveley and surroundings. It includes many parts of Bolsover District Council and also covers the Amber Valley area, including Ripley, Belper and Alfreton amongst others.

North Division also covers the north west of the county, spreading as far as New Mills in the north to Ashbourne in the south, taking in Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and many other towns inbetween.

North Division covers the areas of High Peak, Derbyshire Dales, Chesterfield, Bolsover, North East Derbyshire and Amber Valley.

The areas are diverse and are a mixture of rural and urban.

We police these in conjunction with our communities and partners to deliver a service that keeps people safe, tackles crime and puts the public at the forefront of our service.

The Local Policing Units are headed by a local Inspector who is responsible for the day to day policing in that community.

Our priorities are:

  • Protecting vulnerable people
  • Attacking criminality including anti- social behaviour
  • Being visible and providing reassurance to our communities
  • Providing value for money whilst managing the financial challenges

We aim to deliver a strong local policing presence to maintain crime reduction.

I am keen to ensure that the service we deliver is of the highest possible standard.
