Clay Cross officer appeals for owner of horse to come forward

Posted on 11th November 2014

Police in Chesterfield are appealing for information to help trace the owner of three horses which were found loose in the New Tupton area.

At around 4.40pm on Friday, October 24, police received reports of three untethered horses which were seen loose on the Wingerworth, Tupton stretch of the A61.

It is believed that they had escaped from the old Cricket Field at the rear of Nethermoor Road, New Tupton, and all three were returned by passers-by.

On Tuesday, November 4, two of the horses were taken from the field by an unknown person driving a silver coloured vehicle. Later the same day, police attended the field and took the remaining loose horse to a safe location.

Officers are appealing for the owner of the horses to contact them.

Anyone with any further information about the incident is asked to contact PC David Price on 101, quoting incident number 579 of 24.10.14.
