Six people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following police drug strikes in Glossop.
At around 12.25am on Monday, June 9, police stopped a silver coloured Ford Mondeo on Norfolk Street, Glossop and carried out a search of the vehicle.
A large quantity of suspected amphetamine and drugs paraphernalia were discovered by police. An offensive weapon was also found inside the vehicle.
Anthony Leonard, aged 26, was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and amphetamine, possession of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon.
Leonard, of Mouslow Close, Hadfield, was remanded in custody and was due to appear before Magistrates in Chesterfield on Wednesday, June 10.
A 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were also arrested in connection with the incident. Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.
A woman and two men were arrested on Thursday, June 5 after police executed a separate warrant at a property on Gladstone Street in Glossop.
Officers discovered items including a quantity of suspected cannabis during a search of the property.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
A 55-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
All three have been bailed pending further police inquiries.
Inspector Barry Doyle, who leads Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in Glossop, said: “I would like to encourage all residents to report any suspected drugs activity to us as we do act on the intelligence that you provide. Together we can make Glossop an even safer place and we will continue to target suspected drugs activity in our communities to help achieve that goal.”
