Cigarettes and cash stolen during break-in at convenience store

Burglars stole cigarettes and cash from a convenience store in Shirland after smashing the front window to get inside.

The offenders struck at Higham Food and Wine, in Chesterfield Road, Shirland, in the early hours of Tuesday, September 2.

Cigarettes and a small amount of cash were taken from the store during the burglary.

Police want witnesses or anyone with information on the incident to call them on 101, quoting crime reference 36959/14.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the offence and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
