Investigations continue into cause of house fire

Police and firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at a house in Ripley.

Emergency services were called to the house, in Lowes Hill, at around 10.30am today (Sunday, November 6).

An elderly man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in a serious condition.

Officers closed the road while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing but it is not thought to have been caused by a firework.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 369 of November 6.
