Pedestrian dies following collision

A 61-year-old man has died following a collision with a car in Ashover Road, Old Tupton yesterday evening (Friday, December 7) just before 9pm.

The man was taken to hospital following the incident but sadly died some time later.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers are now investigating the circumstances of this incident and anyone with any information, particularly dash cam footage from the area at the time, is urged to contact Derbyshire police quoting reference number 1800059370.
