Two Factor Authentication
Your computers, tablets and smartphones contain a huge amount of business-critical data, such as the personal information of your customers, and also details of the online accounts that you access. It is essential that this data does not fall into the wrong hands.
What is Two Factor Authentication?
Two factor authentication is a way of confirming your identity by utilising a combination of two different components; a password and a code.
It requires two different methods to 'prove' your identity before you can use a service, such as your email account. This generally works by using a password plus one other method; such as a code that's sent to your smartphone and changes every time you log in.
Why should you use Two Factor Authentication?
The online accounts you use are a wealth of information that, were they to fall into a criminals hands, could be used to do serious harm to you and your business. Criminals could use your email to reset passwords and obtain personal or financial information, leaving you vulnerable to identify theft and fraud.
It you have two factor authentication; this will help prevent unauthorised access to your accounts.
